The Genesis

How a skeptic ended up writing about magic and why none of it has been exaggerated.

How It Started

For most of my adult life I dismissed anything that could not be measured, tested, and replicated. I looked at anything spiritual with a reflexive skepticism I wore as an identity. Then a series of personal experiences started accumulating that I genuinely could not fit into any framework I had, and each one, taken alone, might have been dismissed, but together they became impossible to ignore.

I started reading about protection magic first, mostly out of curiosity and partly out of necessity. I began practicing cautiously and with a fair amount of internal resistance, and at some point in that process I realized I was working with something real. The results were concrete enough that walking away would have required more intellectual dishonesty than staying in.

That was years ago. Since then I have gone through folk magic, protective rituals, energy work, divination, shadow work, and visualization practices, reading more books on the subject than I can count and testing more things than I can remember. Some of them worked immediately, some revealed themselves over time, and some simply did not work, which I consider equally useful information.

Places and Practice

A significant part of what shaped my understanding came from traveling to places with a strong energetic presence. I have visited several sites across Europe that carry a weight you feel before you understand it, standing stones and ancient temple ruins and landscapes that have held sacred significance for thousands of years. On one occasion I traveled through parts of Asia and encountered traditions of energy work and protective practice that were both completely different from what I knew and somehow entirely consistent with it at the level of underlying principle. Those experiences convinced me that what we are working with here is universal in some meaningful sense, expressed differently across cultures but pointing at the same thing.

Why This Exists

Good practical information in this space is genuinely hard to find without paying for it. Everything tends to be buried in expensive courses, sealed inside closed communities, or explained with just enough vagueness that you finish reading without actually knowing what to do. Knowledge that should belong to anyone who wants it somehow always ends up requiring a membership. This site is my response to that, and my commitment is to share everything I know as clearly and as completely as I can, holding nothing back.

Something worth mentioning: the overwhelming majority of content creators in this space are women, and they do excellent work. I am glad to offer a male perspective on all of this, though I want to be clear that in my experience gender has absolutely nothing to do with how well any of this works. The only variable that matters is genuine engagement with the practice.

The word expert makes me uncomfortable in this context. What I am is someone who takes this seriously, practices consistently, and has accumulated direct experience that I believe is worth sharing. Everything on this site comes from personal practice or serious research, and when something falls outside my direct experience I say so clearly.
